Beginning blues guitar is not as hard as you think.  Acoustic blues guitar is a great style to work with if you are just starting out or are coming from anther style.  i have created a simple tutorial on how to play a blues in E.

I recommend that you use your thumb to play this tune because it will give you a sound similar to the old blues guitar players.  You might also use a plectrum (pick).

Play the piece real slowly.  It is written in both guitar Tab and Music Notation for guitar.

This guitar lesson site will be updated on a weekly basis.

Welcome to Acoustic guitar blog. I will be adding tutorials of simple guitar lessons to this Acoustic Guitar Blog Site o a regular basis.  The first instructional post at this guitar blog will be a simple E Blues that can be played with the thumb.

A simple blues chord pattern in E generally has 3 basic chords.  E7, an A7 and a B7.  Of course we can make it more complex but it’s good to keep things simple and get the foundations right first.  Once the basics are sorted, then the beginner can move on and master more complex material.
